Ulliott was brought up in a small house in a working class area. He shared a room with his sister Janet. He was not properly motivated and guided in education, and as a result, he left his studies at the age of 15. He was doing some odd jobs (making trophies) to support his living, but was fired from the job for taking an afternoon off for going to horse race. In one juncture, he lost over £5,000 to bookies and planned to steal that money, and was arrested when one of the team was caught.

He was confined for 3 weeks in small cell at Hull Police station and then sent to Leeds Prison for 9 months sentence. Abreast acquittance, he earned a job at the timber depot. Not taking lessons from the past, he was again part of the safe-cracking team.
Apart from criminal activities, he is very fond of music and also plays guitar and piano well. He carries a strange tradition of wearing gold knuckleduster rings reading “Devil” and “Fish”, leather jacket, and sunglasses.Poker Career: Dave Ulliott is the easily recognizable and familiar poker faces. He is also one of the most successful poker players with many major tournaments victories, ultimately becoming a force to be reckoned with. Ulliot started playing poker when he was in grade school. At the age of 16, learnt three card bag on introduction to Hull’s Fifty-One Club casino.

Poker Career:

David finished No.1 in the 1997 WSOP Pot Limit Hold 'em event, winning $180,310. He also won the 2nd place in the same event in 1998 claiming $150,480. He won the Third Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open Pot Limit Omaha event in the year 2002, winning $123,772.

In 2003, he won the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold 'em Main Event taking home galloping prize money of $589,175.
 At 2005 WSOP, he cashed in 3 events including a 3rd place finish in the $1,500 No Limit Hold 'em event worth $232,205. All in all, he is an all-round player who can take on any table at any place.

In 2006, he was placed at 25th and 24th position at 2006 WSOP, Event 16, Pot-Limit Omaha and 2006 WSOP, Event 2, No-Limit Hold'em respectively, winning $10,000 and $1,500.
