Demetriou was a sports betting consultant before getting into poker. Born in London, Harry is former clinical scientist for National Health Service in London.

Being an eminent stock market gambler, displayed his mathematical intellect in poker. It was when, with his friend (Paul Magriel) had a chance to come across.

“Poker is a profession that demands one to stay fit both mentally and physically,” Demetriou opines.

Poker Career:

Harry Demetriou was relatively to international poker scene, when he started competing in 2002. He became popular after his 3rd place finish at the $2,000 NLH tournament at the 2002 WSOP, taking home a cool $80,200 as prize money.

In 2003, he bagged 3rd place at the 2003 Crown Australasian Poker Championship claiming $69,728, and also made appearance in World Heads-Up Poker Championship and Poker Million.

In the 2004 World Series of Poker, he was at 18th position, winning $147,500.

After 2 years of hard practice, Demetriou went great guns at the 2005 WSOP making 2 final tables and finished runner-up at the 2005 WSOP - Short-Handed No-Limit Hold'em event and received massive $163,850 as win.

At 2006 WSOP, he made to the final table of Event #21 - No-Limit Hold'em- Short-Handed 6/table, finishing 6th with $58,719.
