Rob Hollink was born in Enschede, and currently residing in Groningen, an ancient city in Northern Netherlands. Before stepping into poker, Hollink was fond of tennis, soccer basketball and few other outdoor games. But constant injuries always kept him in a spot of bother and it has been a hindrance for his progress.

Rob originally was a mathematics student. He also studied economics before he recognized his talent of winning and making money at casino games. A sudden decision to skip into a poker tournament proved him to be an effective and a successful player. Since then, he went on to finish many times at first place and take his place among the top money-winners of all time. Being a student of both economics and mathematics, he was able to try and experiment few combinations, which gave him an extra edge over his fellow players.

Poker Career:

Hailing from Enschede, Netherlands - Rob proved that Marcel Luske is not the only Dutchman who can play poker. Hollink has gained good reputation in the poker world. He is well respected for his skills at the games of Omaha and Hold'em.

Rob has been gambling for more than 22 years and has won tournaments in across the Europe. Some of them include Pot Limit Omaha at the Master Classics of Poker 2001, Amsterdam, €500 Pot Limit Omaha at the Austrian Masters 2002, Vienna, €3,000 Pot Limit Omaha at the Euro Finals of Poker 2003, Paris, €250 Pot Limit Omaha at the World Heads-Up Poker Championship 2004, Barcelona.

At the 2003 WSOP, Rob made it to the final table of Pot Limit Omaha tournament, taking his total tally of money finishes to 9 at the WSOP. Even in no-limit hold’em events, Rob has 2 money finishes at World Poker Tour (WPT) events like 12th in the Grand Prix de Paris 2004 and 5th in the Season 3 WPT Championship, with $23,167 and $377,420 prize money.

Nonetheless, his greatest victory came after defeating 211 players at the €10,000 European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo, where he claimed whopping prize money of €635,000. With almost 2 million as career prize money just in 2005, Rob had ample time to exercise his old economic theories.
