Omaha Hi/Lo
Introduction
Due to high increase and frequent large pots, Omaha Hi/Lo (otherwise called as "Omaha High Low" or "Omaha 8 or Better") quickly gained prominence in North America and Europe. Omaha Hi/Lo is growing at a rapid pace attaining quick popularity, particularly with the exposure of online poker. Here in Omaha Hi Lo, every player is dealt with four cards, called whole cards, which belongs only to that player.
Five community cards are dealt face-up on the "board". Every player would use two cards from their four hole cards in combination with three cards from the board to make the best possible five-card poker hand.
The name Hi/Lo is because the pot is divided between the best hand for the high and contrarily on the best hand for the low. It is to be noted that Omaha Hi /Lo is played with an "8 or better" qualifier. This actually means that a hand must be at worst an 8 for low to be eligible to win the low portion of the pot. Low hands in Omaha Hi /Lo are determined in exactly the same way they're determined in 7 Card Stud Hi/ Lo.
